Mogadishu, Somalia – Today, Deputy Prime Minister Salah Jama led the quarterly meeting of the Coordination Working Group, organized by Somalia’s Tubsan National Center for Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE).
The meeting saw the participation of key figures including the Minister of Information and Tourism, Daud Aweis, and the President’s Advisor and Director of Tubsan, Abdullahi Mohamed Nor. Notably, the assembly included Somalia’s International Partners and foreign missions in the country, alongside representatives from Federal Member States and members of civil society organizations.
This high-level meeting aimed to bolster efforts against violent extremist ideologies and foster coordination among various stakeholders. Deputy Prime Minister Salah Jama emphasized the importance of collaborative approaches in addressing the root causes of extremism and implementing effective strategies to counter violent extremism.
Minister Daud Aweis highlighted the role of media and tourism in promoting peace and countering extremist narratives, while Abdullahi Mohamed Nor reaffirmed Tubsan’s commitment to leading national efforts in PCVE.
